One of our members, Anthony Haigh, has an art exhibition in the Tourist Office in Boussac until the end of February 2020.
Tony told us;
Since retiring in 2011 I have taken up the pens and brushes again and have been busy recording scenes in the local area, some of which people have been kind enough to purchase!
The pictures in the tourist office are ‘pen and wash’, that is ink and watercolour or ink on watercolour paper and depict local scenes.
I particularly like trying to capture the atmosphere at markets and fairs and the older buildings in the surrounding towns and villages. I am also interested in how ‘tonal values’ – the diffences between light and shade give depth to a picture.
As well as the pictures in the tourist office, I also have some in ‘The Gallery’ in Place Massy at Chambon-sur-Voueize (opposite the main entrance to the abbey). I’m happy to take commissions if anyone is interested.
When you are next in Boussac please pop in to the tourist office and take a look.
