Charlotte van Zwol was born in The Hague in 1951. After high school she went to university and became a lawyer. In her professional life she worked as a lawyer and a teacher of law. Painting was always a creative outlet for her. By participating in numerous art classes, she developed her artistic skills and her own style of painting. In 2009, she stopped working and moved with her husband to the beautiful and green department of the Creuse, in the Limousin region.
Inspired by the peace and tranquility of the Creuse and the overwhelming nature; she began to write articles, stories and poems inspired by her own life and the lives of the people around her. Two books, the first of poems and the second of stories, have been published on bol.com.
Living in France her painting took on a new energy. Life in the French countryside and the landscape of the Creuse, with its countless shades of green, are her inspiration. During her daily walk she photographs everything that excites her; the hills, the views of Toulx-Sainte-Croix in particular, cows, trees, flowers and ferns. Later, these images give her ideas for her painting.
Charlotte prefers to paint with oil, but she also works with acrylic and pastel, both figurative and abstract. Lately she prefers to work more on abstract painting. In early 2015, she registered her business, “Creative Creuse” through which she organises painting and creative writing workshops. Inspiring others through what inspires her is a new challenge.

Charlotte van Zwol est née à La Haye en 1951. Après le lycée, elle est allée à l’ université et est devenue avocat. Dans sa vie professionnelle elle a travaillé comme avocat et professeur de droit. Peindre a eu toujours un exutoire créatif pour elle. En participant à de nombreux cours d’art, elle a développé ses compétences artistiques et son propre style de peinture. En 2009, elle a cessé de travailler et a déménagé avec son mari au beau et vert département de la Creuse en Limousin. Inspirée par la paix et la tranquillité de la Creuse – l’espace bleu et vert- elle a commencé à écrire, des articles, des histoires , des poèmes inspirés par sa propre vie et celle des gens qu’elle entoure. Deux livres, le premier de poèmes et le second d’histoires ont été édités au bol.com.
En vivant en France sa peinture a pris un nouvel élan. La vie dans la campagne française et le paysage de la Creuse avec ses innombrables nuances de vert sont ses sources. Au cours de sa promenade quotidienne elle photographie tout ce qui la fascine: les collines, celle de Toulx Sainte Croix en particulier, les vaches, les arbres, les fleurs et les fougères. Plus tard, ces images lui donnent des idées pour peindre.
Charlotte préfère peindre à l’huile, mais elle travaille également avec l’acrylique et le pastel. des oeuvres à la fois figuratives et abstraites. Dernièrement, elle a eu plutôt envie de travailler la peinture abstraite. Au début de 2015, elle s’est inscrite comme autoentrepreneur et elle organise des ateliers de peinture et d’écriture sous le nom “Creuse Creatief”. Enthousiasmer les autres grâce à ce qui l’anime est pour elle un nouveau défi.

Charlotte van Zwol werd in 1951 in Den Haag geboren. Na de middelbare school ging zij studeren en werd juriste. In haar arbeidzame leven werkte zij als advocate en docente recht. Schilderen was voor haar altijd een creatieve uitlaatklep. Door het volgen van vele schildercursussen ontwikkelde zij haar artistieke vaardigheden en een eigen stijl van schilderen. In 2009 stopte zij met werken en verhuisde met haar echtgenoot naar het prachtige groene departement La Creuse in de region Limousin.
Door de rust en ruimte en geïnspireerd door de overweldigende natuur kreeg het schilderen nieuwe impulsen en begon zij ook te schrijven. Columns, verhalen en gedichten over zich zelf, de mensen om haar heen en het leven in de Creuse. Twee boekjes, het eerste met gedichten (Over de liefde en meer) en een tweede boekje met verhalen ( Een snufje Creuse) werden uitgegeven bij bol.com. Ook het schilderen kreeg een nieuwe impuls door het wonen in Frankrijk. Het leven op het Franse platteland en het landschap van de Creuse met zijn ontelbare kleuren groen zijn haar inspiratiebronnen. Tijdens haar dagelijkse wandeling fotografeert zij alles wat haar boeit. De heuvels, het uitzicht op Toulx Ste Croix, de koeien, de bomen, bloemen en varens. Later geven de foto’s haar ideeën voor schilderijen.
Charlotte schildert het liefst met olieverf, maar werkt ook met acrylverf en pastelkrijt, zowel figuratief als abstract. De laatste tijd is er de behoefte om groter en abstracter te gaan werken. Begin 2015 heeft zij zich als zelfstandig ondernemer ingeschreven en organiseert zij onder de naam Creuse Creatief workshops schilderen en creatief schrijven. Anderen enthousiast maken voor wat zij zelf graag doet, ziet zij als een nieuwe uitdaging.
